Het Parktheater wants to lift the taboo on anxiety and depression. To do so a cabaret performance has been scheduled for today May 10, titled: ‘Geen Paniek’ (no panic).

Cabaret performer Marjolijn van Kooten and psychiatrist Bram Bakker have collaborated on the performance at the theatre. It is no coincidence that the two are staging this performance.

Both Van Kooten and Bakker have experienced mental health issues. Van Kooten has suffered for a long time from a severe anxiety disorder. With the assistance of Bakker she discovered her biggest passion: cabaret.

Bakker has recently published his latest book: ‘Geluk uit een potje’ (happiness out of a jar). With the publication of the book he wants to enlighten the general public about the misconceptions of the pharmaceutical industry and uncover the dangers of taking antidepressant medication.

The performance starts at 20.30 at het Parktheater.
