Van Abbe 80 hours non-stop open on anniversary

At 11:00 this morning the 80th anniversary celebration of the Van Abbe Museum was opened.

From then on the museum is nonstop open until Sunday 19:00.

The festive opening was graced by the Van Abbe Museum Choir. The official starting signal was then given by comedian, actor and presenter Marc-Marie Huijbregts. He talked about his experiences in the Van Abbe depot during his quest for hidden treasures in our collection for
1st DWDD pop-up museum.

Alderman Mary Ann Schreurs and director Charles Esche then opened the doors of the museum and presented a welcoming speech in the auditorium.

During the long weekend there are all kinds of activities for young and old. There is a movie night and a night for children. Furthermore, yoga classes are given and there is a debate with several museum directors.
