The municipality of Eindhoven wants to implement restricted areas for bicycle thieves. Persistent offenders are then banned within a 100 meter vicinity of the bicycles, according to Eindhovens Dagblad.
The municipality has taken the measure as part of a new security program, in an effort to reduce the number of bicycle thefts. Reducing bicycle thefts is a spearhead of the municipality, but so far without result. Whether this measure is legally feasible remains to be seen.
