CDA wants policy change to stop illegal night parties

The CDA (Christian democratic party) is looking into changing policies surrounding illegal late-night parties after one such party was held last weekend.

Around 100 partygoers congregated under the N2 viaduct late on Saturday and into the early hours of Sunday. Police took action after revellers ignored initial warnings, but the CDA says this isn’t good enough, asking "why wasn’t the party shut down as soon as complaints were received?"

The CDA is also looking into whether the city council or police force were aware of last weekend’s party, and if permits are required for such events.
