Pilot with body cams for City Surveillance team

Eindhoven is going to carry out a pilot project in which City Surveillance employees will test body-worn cameras. The Mayor and Aldermen have announced this, in response to a VVD initiative.

According to this political party, wearing body cams will contribute to de-escalating conflicts and can also be used for training purposes, if the images are used as such.

The Mayor and Aldermen would first like to examine whether this information is correct. In order to do so, a so-called baseline measurement will be carried out, after which a small group of surveillants will be equipped with such body cams. That way, results can be compared .

As Rotterdam surveillants already use body cams, the Mayor and Aldermen would like to hear what their findings are.
