Refurbishment of the car park, also known as Fensterrein, on Keizersgracht, will start next Monday.
There is to be additional greenery, new street lighting and a pedestrian path, De Bergenpad, linking the city centre with De Bergen, by way of Fensterrein.
Work on Fensterrein, starting with the pedestrian path, will begin on Monday 11 January, and continue through until mid-April. The car park will remain closed for the duration.
Traffic will be diverted from 15 through 19 February, when work is being carried out on the crossing between Hooghuisstraat and Keizersgracht, and both bus and car lanes will be closed.
