Brabant invests in maintenance hall JSF

The province of Noord-Brabant is going to invest 22 million euros in building a maintenance hall for JSF, the new fighter which is the successor of the F-16. The province announced the news last week.

The workshop and engine test will be set up at Woensdrecht Air Base (in the west of the province). It is a project of the province and the Ministries of Defence and Economic Affairs. Together, all parties will invest 88 million. The contribution of the province is a loan.

The Netherlands will buy in total 37 JSF and F-35 (Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning) fighters for 4.5 billion euros. From 2019 they will replace the Dutch F-16.
