New passenger tunnel, first rush hour goes well

The new passenger tunnel at Eindhoven Station has survived its first rush hour. Some passengers needed a little time to find their way, but in the end, everyone was able to continue their journey on the busy Monday morning.

Extra staff were present, to help passenger get accustomed to the new tunnel. They handed out chocolate letters with E for Eindhoven, and were available to answer any queries travellers might have.
Not everyone was helped by the additional information they were offering. A number of passengers wandered round looking lost. Many of the signs due to be hung in the tunnel are not yet present, so it isn’t always easy to find your way.

Only half the tunnel has now been officially opened. The tunnel will eventually be twice as wide as the old passage. Construction continues on the other half, which will be opened next summer.
