VDL Nedcar to produce new MINI Convertible

Today, VDL Groep and BMW Group jointly announced that in addition to producing the new MINI, VDL Nedcar will produce a second model for BMW Group.

From November 2015, the new MINI Convertible will also be built in Born. Unlike the new MINI, which is also produced in Oxford, the MINI Convertible will be manufactured exclusively at VDL Nedcar.

Following the production start of the new MINI in July 2014, starting next month VDL Nedcar will also begin building the MINI Convertible for BMW Group. The allocation of a new model shows that BMW Group has confidence in the Dutch car manufacturer and wants to further expand the cooperation.

VDL Nedcar is proud of the allocation of an exclusive model. In the company’s history this is the 21st model to be introduced, but it is the first time a convertible will be built. Preparations for the production are proceeding on schedule.

As of this year MINI Convertibles will already roll off the production line in Born. VDL Groep has every confidence in the further cooperation with BMW Group.
