DAF begins construction of €100million paint shop

DAF has begun construction of a new, environmentally-friendly paint shop in Belgian Westerlo.

The €100million project comes after production at DAF Trucks reached a record high in the fourth quarter of this year. According to CEO Harrie Schippers, this growth is mainly due to an overall rapid growth in the European market for heavy trucks.

Production through the end of August this year was 20% higher than the same period in 2014. This calls for investments to support capacity and efficiency requirements, says Schippers. DAF showcased some of these new products at the BedrijfsautoRAI (Road Transport Show) 2015.

The Bedrijfsauto RAI will run from October 20th to 24th.
