D66: Camera surveillance at Station Beukenlaan

According to political party D66, CCTV cameras should be installed at Beukenlaan Station again. The party asked questions about this during the city council meeting.

Until a few years ago, cameras hung at the station, but they were removed because maintenance and reading out were too expensive. Since then, however, problems at the station have increased.

D66 wrote that bicycle thefts, handling stolen goods, violence, and drug and alcohol nuisance are not uncommon at the station. And these problems have to be dealt with.

The party wants to know whether the cameras will return, now that the station is going to be redeveloped and will be renamed Strijp-S. And, if not, how much installation and reading out will actually cost.
