Running the marathon in one round. This has been a wish of runners since long and this year it will become reality. There is a whole new stretch added to the race course, and it was tested this weekend.
The new loop takes runners along greenery, but also along many well-known buildings. This really is an asset to the marathon, also for the spectators. The new part leads past the Philips Stadium, Strijp-S, Evoluon, Hovenring, High Tech Campus and the Genneper parks.
The finish line remains on Vestdijk. This year a record number of 24,000 runners are expected, this is nearly 6,000 more than last year.
The starting shot of the Eindhoven marathon will be on 11 October this year.
