TU/e is expecting nearly a quarter more foreign students

TU/e is expecting nearly a quarter more foreign students than last year. Last year 420 international students started a TU/e-course. Exact figures are not yet available as many students still have to finalise their applications.
This year the largest influx from abroad once again is from China and India. The International Students are mainly interested in the fields of computer science, electrical engineering, automotive and renewable energy.
The annual "Intro" starts on Monday, August 17th. During this introduction the newcomers will learn about their education, university, student life and the city of Eindhoven.
The introductory period, for the foreign students begins a week earlier. This is due to the fact that more has to be arranged for these students, for instance practical things like banking etc.
During this "Intro" the main language will be English, due to the many nationalities present.
