TU/e again has strongest collaboration with industry

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) takes the world number 1 place in the ranking for scientific co-publications with industry. This is shown by the CWTS Leiden Ranking, which was published last Wednesday.

In particular the disciplines physical sciences and engineering, and biomedical and health sciences, achieve high scores, compared with other universities. This year marks the seventh time that Eindhoven leads the Leiden Ranking since the first edition in 2009.

TU/e Executive Board president Jan Mengelers is proud of the fact that the university again takes first place in the CWTS Leiden Ranking. This result underlines the university’s strong links with industry. "The ties between TU/e and industry in the Brainport region and beyond have long been a unique feature of this university. We have a clear ambition for excellence in both education and research, with a strong added value for society at large. For a university of technology this quite simply cannot be achieved without the role of industry."

The CWTS Leiden Ranking measures the scientific performance of 750 universities worldwide on measurable indicators, both in terms of the impact of publications and on the level of collaboration with other universities and industry. In the ranking for publications in scientific publications with the highest impact, TU/e takes the 118th place.
