Rare car sketch in DAF museum

While he took a stroll over an Italian flea market, car enthusiast Michel Oprey found a rare car sketch of a DAF Kini.

It was a sketch of the hand of the famous Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti. The sketch of the car is currently on display at the DAF museum.

The DAF Kini has been in the museum for a while. Now the corresponding sketch of the car is present too.

The Italian cabrio is best known as the summer car of the Royal Dutch family. In the 1970s, the family drove around in the (for those days) uxury car.

‘It is an original sketch from 1965. It is hand drawn and coloured by Giovanni Michelotti himself. Furthermore, the sketch is exactly 50-years-old and is still in perfect condition," says Geert Vermeer Vice-President of the DAF museum.
