The players of Oranje Zwart have reached the finals of the Euro Hockey League against Bloemendaal after shootouts, yesterday afternoon.
Originally, the Eindhoven hockey team, male division, were to play against Belgian Daring the semi-ifinals. But changes by the organization were made resulting in a game against Bloemendaal.
At the beginning Oranje Zwart were at a disadvantage with Bloemendaal scoring a goal in the first half. OZ played a notch higher after the first half with goals from Reckers and Galema, making a 2-1 lead by the Eindhoven team but, in the final minutes of the game Bloemendaal suddenly tied the score by a penalty corner.
With the scores equal, the winner had to be concluded by shootouts, with a neck-and-neck match, Oranje Zwart takes home the win with a 6-5.
The Eindhoven men play today’s finals against UHC Hamburg. This team have won the tournament three times previously.
