Effenaar still in the red, but losses are lower

The Effenaar music stage has fewer visitors, a lower turnover, but also less loss. That, in a nutshell, is the state of the Effenaar over the last year. Director Jos Feijen is satisfied.

The loss dropped from 147,000 euros to ‘only’ 49,000 euros per year. According to Feijen, that’s quite reasonable, with regard to the difficult circumstances the Effenaar suffered. He refers to the fact that rent costs doubled, and other troubles like a sick Director and the advance of outdoor festivals.

Also fewer visitors came to the Effenaar, 136,000, which is 21,000 less than the previous year.

For the next year it should therefore be feasible to break even, thinks Director Feijen.
