As the first hospital in the Netherlands, Catharina hospital received a European certificate for good breast cancer care. The certificate comes from Eusoma.
Eusoma is the European Society of Breast Cancer Specialists. This European organisation was the first in drawing up guidelines and indicators for good breast cancer care. The goal was to acquire the same level of care in all European countries.
The Dutch guidelines for breast cancer care, compiled by insurers and breast cancer care organizations, are largely based on those of the European Society of Breast Cancer Specialists.
