Almost ten thousand signatures were presented to the Gedrop-Mierlo city council yesterday evening in favour of enabling free parking in the centre of Geldrop. The exact number of signatures collected was 9350.
Shop owners in Geldrop Centre are worried that they cannot compete with the shopping centre in the Coevering, since the Coevering has free parking.
That is why an action has been started in various shops in Geldrop Centre, by handing over signature forms, in order to find supporters for free parking in the centre.
The signatures were presented to the city council, yesterday evening. The council is expected to react at a later stage.
