TU/e surprised about fuss over tree-cutting Celebeslaan

The TU/e is amazed at all the fuss caused by the tree-cutting for the construction of the new parking lot of the TU/e at the Celebeslaan. According to a response in the university magazine Cursor.

Trefpunt Groen (environmental organization) accuses TU of illegal tree-cutting and the deliberate damage of other trees, so they will die off and eventually will have to be cut down.

But that is nonsense, says Véronique Marks of the University Housing Service. The TU/e had applied for a felling permit for the trees, but did not get that. Then made another plan. With this new plan twenty parking spaces less can be built but the university adheres the rules, says Marks.

TU/e wants to talk to Trefpunt Groen soon to clarify their activities at the new car park at the Celebeslaan.
