Four million for Eindhoven Smart Homes

The European Commission will reward an Eindhoven innovation project for elderly people to live longer at home with four million euros. It is about social robots and smart living environments devised by the company, Smart Homes in Eindhoven.

The company is going to start the process in March by working with older people with early dementia and to support care givers. This knowledge will be used in the development of the care robots.

The research center has been working for nearly seven years on doing research on social robots in healthcare. This knowledge and experience will soon be used to test new technologies and services in practice. Smart Homes also works with research companies from abroad.

The European Commission has made this funding available to encourage cooperation of European companies and institutions.
