“Muslims in Eindhoven speak out against attacks”

Muslims in Eindhoven have gathered this weekend to discuss ‘how to deal with the violence and attacks committed in their name,’ reports the Eindhovens Dagblad (Eindhoven daily).

The meeting was initiated by Hafid Bouteibi, councillor of the Labour Party, among others.

There were about seventy individuals that attended the meeting held in community centre ‘De Vaart’ in Vaartbroek. Many Muslims are struggling with the question of how they should respond to the current issues of crimes they themselves had nothing to do with, as in the recent attacks in Paris.

There was also the question of whether Muslims should unite to speak out together against the violence. This may happen in the future, but at the moment, they decided to continue to meet on the said pressing issues.
