Cameras at taxi stand after reports of intimidation

Recently some security cameras have been added near the taxi stands at Eindhoven station. Councilor Visscher took the initiative to prevent intimidation among taxi drivers. This was confirmed by a spokesman for the municipality.

Taxi companies Cibataxi and Jansen Taxi complained about intimidation and threats at the station. The threats could come from "snorders" (illegal taxis).

According to Visscher this is unacceptable. The municipality intends to adopt further measures, such as the commitment of city watch "stadwachten" or police officers. But at first they would like to assess the size and nature of the harassment.

The municipality requested taxi drivers to immediately report any threats.
