Definite: Eindhoven will have no fireworks free zones

The municipality of Eindhoven decided that there will be no fireworks free zones in the city. The reason for this is that previous years no major problems have been identified. Also near hospitals or nursing homes no specific troubles have been reported.

However, there is additional surveillance in the city. The police and ‘Stadstoezicht’ (city surveillance) will pay extra attention to places where there has been firework nuisance in the past. There is also extra care at vulnerable locations like for example nursing homes.

The national rules for setting off fireworks have changed.
On 31 December from 18:00hrs fireworks can be set off, until 2:00hrs.
In a number of municipalities in the Netherlands fireworks free zones have been indicated to limit nuisance.
