The Hub devoted to Hindu festival

Activities at the Hub in Eindhoven will focus on the Indian festival Diwali tomorrow.

On Sunday night many lanterns will be lit at the Vestdijk and there are going to be belly dancers and Bollywood music during this celebration of the festival of light. The festivities are organized by a group of TU/e students.

Diwali is one of the most important festivals in Hindu culture and is celebrated throughout India. The festival is about good things that overcome evil and normally takes five days, during which many sweets are eaten. Lights are lit in and around the house in order to dispel the darkness.

Especially for the Eindhoven version of the festival, the students have crammed the celebration into one evening. There is going to be a three course menu with Indian food. In addition, there will be a fireworks display and a performance of Bollywood dances.
