Station in Acht delayed even more

Eindhoven Airport will eventually get a train station, but only in 2028. This is the conclusion of new agreements made between Minister Schultz-Van Haegen from the Dept. of Infrastructure and Environment and the region.

The new station will be located in the Mispelhoef Business Park in Acht. Until now, the expected completion date had been planned for sooner than that, but in a recent letter to the House of Commons (Tweede Kamer), the minister informed them that to construct a station there now, was not yet feasible.

In the coming years, investments must first be made to develop a ‘multi-modaal transfer point’, where transferring from existing transport modes, such as rapid public transit, will be possible.

These plans are all part of ‘BrainportCity’, a larger plan which must guarantee the accessibility of the region between 2020 and 2040.
