Six million euros for sustainable project in Eindhoven

A major project, focussing on sustainable mobility and energy supply in Strijp, Eckart and Vaartbroek, will receive a grant of more than six million euros from the European Commission.

This project, in which Eindhoven cooperates with Manchester and Stavanger in Norway, makes it one of Europe’s Smart Cities. Consideration should be given to clever ways of parking, using special Apps, but also to the possibility of renewing the rapid charging system for electric cars at Strijp-S.

A smart energy management system in the district Eckart will also be part of the project. The Eindhoven project is supported by the TU/e, the municipality and Woonbedrijf.
