DDW partners focus on young talent

Dutch Design Week DDW partners Volvo and ABN AMRO are giving young talent and the future of design plenty of attention this year.

ABN AMRO presents the results of Driving Dutch Design and has set up seven exhibition hotspots.

And new DDW partner VOLVO is not only the initiator of a dual exhibition in the Klokgebouw, it will also announce the winner of its design competition and provide the free taxis for the event.

ABN AMRO has expanded its focus on development and support of young talent. One of its projects is Driving Dutch Design, in cooperation with the Association of Dutch Designers (BNO) and DDW. Fifteen designers were supported intensively by a personal coach from the ABN AMRO bank, and attended master classes. The final presentation for the public will open in the ABN AMRO House in the Klokgebouw on October 21.

Work by promising design talents can be seen at hotspots at the Ketelhuisplein (ABN AMRO/ DDW Business Lounge and at the ABN AMRO on the Vestdijk, Eindhoven.

VOLVO presents the Volvo Design Collection with new work based on the most popular car model by the designers Niels van Eijk and Miriam van der Lubbe, and the design competition Volvo Design Challenge with designs by young talented designers.

The winner will be announced on 18 October in the Klokgebouw. VOLVO will provide the thirty free taxis called ‘Volvo Design Rides’.
