Collaboration hospitals Southeast Brabant

Four hospitals in the Southeast Brabant region are going to collaborate in order to provide better care for patients with cardiac arrhythmia.

Máxima Medical Center, Elkerliek Hospital, St. Anna Hospital and Catharina Hospital mainly focus on atrial fibrillation. This is a common form of cardiac arrhythmia, in which case the heartbeat is irregular and much too fast. It is not life threatening, but treatment is necessary nevertheless.

So far patients have been treated in different ways, but from now on the hospitals want to use one standard treatment. There will be a special clinic for atrial fibrillation in all the participating hospitals. In this way the hospitals hope to limit the number of admissions for patients with atrial fibrillation.
