Residents’ fight against rats in Acht

The municipality executive Board decided that residents have to deal with the rat infestation themselves. ‘It is currently not necessary to control rats at private properties, because no contagious diseases are transmitted’, the Board says.

Therefore, residents are responsible to deal with the problem themselves. In public places, the municipality has been active in the prevention of rats for years, also in Acht, the municipality reports. Information is also provided to residents in order to reduce the nuisance as much as possible.

Acht is not the only rat infected place. In other neighbourhoods, such as Achtse Barrier, Blixembosch and Tempel, rats are spotted frequently.

The Village Council in Acht is disappointed by the Board’s decision.
