Labour party PvdA concerned over shortage of community police officers

If Eindhoven does not manage to upgrade the shortage of community police officers soon then certain tasks should be temporarily conveyed to BOA’s, investigating officers.

Labour party PvdA: if shortage of community police officers more tasks delegated to BOA’s. That is the creative proposal by the PvdA in Eindhoven to the Mayor & Councillors’ office. At the moment the region is short of 42 community police officers.

Due to the reorganisation of the national police force, the legal norm is 1 community police officer per 5000 inhabitants is not met in Eindhoven.

For labour party PvdA it is hard to digest that due to an internal issue the safety of citizens is at stake and tasks remain. Especially community police officers manage to prevent numerous offences because they are in good contact with the residents.

The PvdA believes the administrators should keep insisting about the issue. Especially in a city that keeps its high scores in several crime rate statistics, the PvdA believes.
