Con artist with a sob story apprehended

On Monday, the police apprehended a man in Best on suspicion of swindle. Apparently, the 34 year old suspect was also active in Eindhoven a few times.

He would randomly approach passers by with a "sob story" and thereby get some money from them. It seems he has successfully applied his "milking money" method four times in Eindhoven and twice in Best.

One of the stories he used was that he was in need of money for purchasing oil or gasoline for his stranded car. The con artist promised to pay back but he was never available on the telephone number he provided his victims, nor on the e-mail address he provided them with.

The sums of money swindled vary from 10 to 50 Euros per victim. The suspect is apprehended pending further investigation.
