Construction on A50 Eindhoven – Oss both directions

Should one require to travel from Eindhoven to Oss or from Oss to Eindhoven on the A50 highway, one should take into account that during the coming weeks certain areas will be closed for travel and there will be traffic diversions.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment (Rijkswaterstaat) will be carrying out massive road construction on the highway. Furthermore, the bridge near Veghel will be elevated. Therefore, between 11 and 28 July, various areas of the A50 highway will be closed.

On both lanes between Eindhoven and Veghel the asphalt will be replaced. As of Friday 11 July at 23:00 until Saturday 19 July at 23:00 the road will be closed between the Ekkersrijt junction and Exit 11 Veghel in the direction Oss/Nijmegen. Immediately thereafter until Monday 28 July at 05:00 the A50 will be closed from entrance way 11 Veghel to the Ekkersrijt Junction in the direction of Eindhoven.

As of 28 July and until 8 August the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment (Rijkswaterstaat) will be elevating the J.J. Ewell bridge by one meter. This bridge is located on the A50 near Veghel. This action will enable bigger vessels with 3 layers of containers to navigate on the South Willemsvaart. Currently only vessels with 2 layers of containers are able to navigate there. According to the ministry, one vessel with 3 layers of containers takes away approximately 100 trucks from the highway. Whilst this job is taking place, the lanes will be narrowed. As of Friday 1 August at 21:00 until Monday 4 August 06:00 the highway will be totally closed in both directions.

There will be various traffic diversions, but one should take into account that this will cause a lot of delays in the travel time.
