PSV player Depay important for Orange’s victory

PSV player Memphis Depay played an important role in the Netherland’s win against Australia yesterday evening. The final score was 3-2 for the Dutch, and Depay had a role in two of those goals.

Memphis Depay came onto the field shortly before the break; he was substituted for Bruno Martins Indi who was injured after a foul.

In the second half, he assisted Robin van Persie, who tied the score for the Netherlands after they had been trailing with 2-1. For the third goal, bringing the score to 3-2, Depay himself was responsible for making the goal.

Due to their victory over Australia, and to the fact that Spain lost to Chile later in the evening, the Netherlands has qualified for the round of 16 in the World Cup’s second round.
