Over 200 VDL buses to drive in Berlin

VDL will supply 236 city buses to Berlin. The first 40 are already in use this year in the German capital, according to VDL.

For the last two years, Berlin has been using VDL test buses and thus, has experienced a positive result.

The Berlin public transport company BVG, is interested in the ‘kneeling’ VDL buses. When passengers board the bus, the bus ‘kneels’, or lowers closer to the ground, thus making boarding easier.

In addition, the buses are environmentally friendly due to its lightweight. The bus fits about 70 passengers. The VDL buses will provide 61 million euros.
