More female students at TU/e, next year 600 applications’

More and more women opt for a technical education in Eindhoven. In Nieuwsuur, a Dutch current affairs program on TV, Rector Magnificus Hans van Duijn said that the TU/e is expecting 25% more female students next year. That is around 600 in total.

Van Duijn welcomes this increase, because according to him women have a different view on things and it will improve study results.

However, this increase still does not solve the problem after they graduate. Because more than half of technically educated women does not choose a career in technology. According to Nieuwsuur, most women are looking for a part time jobe, but there are hardly any in this sector.
