Tuna Festival celebrates anniversary and will be bigger than ever

In September the Eindhoven inner city will be awash with singing students (Tunas) from all over the world. A Tuna was originally a Spanish tradition, dating back to the early Middle Ages. In those days groups of students travelled from one teacher to another, singing along the way to raise money for their livelihood.

Tuna Ciudad de Luz is celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the traditional Tuna Festival it organizes in Eindhoven every year. For this reason, the song festival is going to be even bigger than usual.

To mark this anniversary, the kick off of the festival will already be on Thursday, 18 September, at the site of the TU/e. Afterwards, on 19, 20 and 21 September, the students will sing their most romantic songs at the Markt (Marketplace) in Eindhoven. In addition, they will give spectacular banner shows.

The organization is still looking for sponsors in order to make a great success of the festival.
