Interviews in Eindhoven Library during ‘Boekenweek’

Eindhoven Library is going to have a busy week, because a number of people will be interviewed there during the national ‘Boekenweek’ (Week of Books).

The ‘Week of Books begins tomorrow and during this week the library and the ‘Eindhovens Dagblad’ (Eindhoven Newspaper) will work together closely.

On 9, 10, 12 and 15 March seven Eindhoven internationals will come to the library. Sitting between the books, these expats will be interviewed about their experiences abroad. The interviews can be attended free of charge in the library cafe and will be published in the ‘Eindhovens Dagblad’ on the morning following each interview.

The event is in line with this year’s theme, travelling, and the motto is: ‘(being) elsewhere in the meantime’.

The writer Tommy Wieringa is a guest at the Literary Cafe Dommeldal in Geldrop on Sunday 30 March. Wieringa is the author of this year’s ‘Boekenweek’ present: the novel ‘A beautiful young woman’. People with an annual season ticket for the Literary Cafe Dommeldal can attend the lecture free of charge. Single tickets are 10 euros each.

Library Dommeldal will start the Week of Books with a local writers’ market on Saturday. Local writers will then read from their work.

Furthermore, a national writing competition is being held and the theme is: ‘a travel experience that you will not easily forget’.
