Car burned out in Geldrop, police investigate

A car completely burnt out in Geldrop last night. This took place near shopping centre Coevering. The fire was reported to the fire brigade around a quarter to eleven.

A bystander told Omroep Brabant (Brabant Broadcasting Corporation) that the car had been used in a robbery or other crime and set on fire afterwards.

Police and fire brigade could not confirm that it was a question of arson. However, the police did inspect a number of parked cars last night. It is not clear what they were looking for. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
