TU/e Students to build largest ice dome ever

A group of TU/e engineering students is going to Finland in order to build the largest igloo ever. It should be ten meters high and thirty meters in diameter.

The ice dome will be partly constructed with pykrete, fibre-reinforced ice, which makes it three times stronger than normal ice.

The ice shell structure might be suitable as an event or storage structure and is fully sustainable.
