Yesterday, TU/e opened its Data Science Center (DSC/e). In this Center, research is done on how to transform data into real value.
Companies will need this knowledge in order to survive, according to specialists . Many companies and scientists struggle with large quantities of information. Therefore, there is a need for knowledge that can turn data into actionable information.
The new Data Center will gather expertise from twenty different scientific communities. This should lead to new insights in the field of data science.
Examples of companies that are very successful in transforming and managing large data volumes are Google and Facebook.
