The construction of new office buildings in the Eindhoven region will become more difficult. The municipalities in this region and the province administration have agreed to make sure that new constructions will be limited.
With this arrangement they want to tackle the large amount of vacancies. Especially in the smaller villages around Eindhoven, opportunities to build will be significantly restricted. In the city itself, it will be limited to locations that are suitable for new constructions only.
Ever since the economic crisis, the region has already cancelled over 40 acres of construction plans. It is the first time that in the Southeast Brabant region arrangements have been made to reduce office buildings.
