Iris van Herpen wins Dutch Design Awards

Fashion designer Iris van Herpen won the Golden Eye at the Dutch Design Awards Saturday evening. The Award was for the ‘Voltage’ collection.

The jury was impressed by her collection and decided to give Van Herpen the award because she goes beyond the concept of fashion, using 3D printing and other revolutionary materials, techniques and technologies.

The Dutch Design Awards are handed out to a number of categories. Iris van Herpen not only won the Golden Eye; she also won an award in the category Best Fashion.

The MINI Young Designer Award for young talent was given to Femke Herregraven. She uses graphic design in a journalistic way.
