Thieves steal jewellery using swap trick

In Stratum, groups of thieves are stealing jewellery by using the swap trick, a police agent working in the Gijzenrooi, Tivoli and Schuttersbosch neighbourhoods tweets.

The officer thinks the thieves look like Romani people. They ask passers-by for directions and ask them to come close to their car.

They often ask for directions to the nearest hospital, according to the policeman. Then, they offer a fake necklace, meanwhile stealing the victim’s necklace.
