Russians help creating greener Doornakkers

Four Russian architecture students are going to participate in the process of making the St Joseph area in Tongelre greener.

It should become more of a meeting place for the neighbourhood. This afternoon, the students are going to consider the various options together with residents, the city and students of the Van Hall Larenstein agricultural vocational university.

The Russians are also going to check what the possibilities are for the Fransiscus school at the Jan van Riebeecklaan in Tongelre. They are taking a green-painted trailer into the neighbourhood and are offering workshops. Surveys are going to be taken and discussions started about the area’s possibilities.

The resulting ideas will be used to improve the area and will be presented on 17 and 18 October. A special exhibit will be displayed during Dutch Design Week.
