Philips is laying off 130 people from a plant in Scotland, as the BBC reports.

It’s about a plant in Hamilton, near Glasgow. As of next year, the production of lamp fittings will be reduced. Part of the plant’s activities will be taken elsewhere. At least a hundred employees will remain working at the plant.Philips has announced that the dismissals are necessary to keep a competitive position on the world market.
