Opposition: no more scooters for municipal police

There is no explanation for Eindhoven’s municipal police agents driving around on scooters.

They should be taking bicycles, CDA (Christian Democratic People’s Party) and SP (Socialist Party) state in a letter to Eindhoven’s mayor and executive Board.Eindhoven wants to present itself as a bike-friendly city and a city of sports, according to the two opposition parties. Therefore, it does not make any sense the city is having its own civil servants drive around on scooters. Also, it takes its toll on the environment.CDA and SP wonder why the municipal police agents do not ride around on bicycles, just like the state police. According to the parties, that would not only be better for the environment and their physical shape, but it would also allow the municipal police to do a better job, instead of driving past everything.
