TU / e wants more female scientists

Too few women work at the Technical University in Eindhoven. At least, that is what the board and many women in college think.

The TU/e has taken steps to lure more female researchers and teachers to college. For example, by making positions more attractive for women, or admitting more women to selection committees. Now there are often only men, and many times they would choose men when recruiting new staff.
At this moment, almost ten percent of the faculty is female. A few years ago this was three percent. In about seven years, it should grow to twenty percent.
Women is Science Eindhoven, the platform for women at the TU/e, is pleased with the new path that has been chosen. However, the club thinks that the ambitions could be a little bit sharper: eventually one in two women should be a scientist.
