New technique decreases radiation at heart operations

The Eindhoven Catharina hospital uses a new technique for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.

By a new innovative device by Philips much less x-rays need to be used during an operation. This can lead to a reduction of fifty percent. And this means less dangerous radiation for the patient, and the doctor.
Philips has concluded contracts with healthcare providers worldwide for the new technique. In the Catharina hospital would on a yearly basis thousands of patients benefit from the new technology.
