Holi festival in Eindhoven

The Holi Festival was held at the university this weekend. It is a Hindu religious festival with song, dance, Indian food and lots of colored powder.

The festival is a combination of the start of spring, the triumph of good over evil and a New Year celebration. Normally the Holi Festival takes place in India around March. But the festival is dependent on good weather because of the colored powder that is used. For this reason, the festival had to be postponed in The Netherlands.  The celebration was organized by Cosmos, an international student group at the TU/e. The publicity was organized via Facebook. There were approximately 150 students at the festival.
